Controls Engineer
The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing programmable logic control (PLC) systems for manufacturing and industrial equipment. This position works closely with electrical engineers, technicians, and other personnel in order to maintain existing control systems, and design and develop new systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and integrate PLC-based control systems for industrial equipment
- Develop, modify, and maintain software programs used for PLC control systems
- Troubleshoot and debug software PLC programs to ensure proper functioning
- Perform hardware and software installation and maintenance of control systems
- Assist in the design, fabrication, and testing of electrical control systems
- Develop and maintain documentation related to the control systems and processes
- Communicate with customers to ensure systems are functioning properly
- Monitor and investigate system and process malfunctions, and determine solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Proven work experience in programming, designing, and developing control systems
- Familiarity with various PLC programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text, and Sequential Function Chart
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD or other similar design software
- Ability to analyze and interpret electrical schematics and control systems diagrams
