Estimator - Commercial Construction

Position Overview
The Pre-Construction Engineer plays a vital role in the early stages of a project by providing technical and administrative support in the planning, design, and execution phases. This position is crucial for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
  • Prepare detailed construction schedules and estimates for proposed projects.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies during the pre-construction phase.
  • Review and analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications for constructability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Procore, and Bluebeam for project planning and management.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate project execution.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and assist with contract administration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in construction engineering or pre-construction roles.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, and estimating techniques.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills to assess risks and develop effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, quantity takeoff, and engineering principles is preferred.
