The Staff Accountant position is a key role on the Finance team of our company. You will be responsible for performing accounting and financial analysis, preparing financial and management reports, developing and maintaining accounting process controls and procedures, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The ideal candidate must have an exceptional understanding of accounting principles and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The candidate will should have experience with managing accounts payable and NetSuite in the FinTech industry.
Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, financial analysis, and finance-related tasks. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Director of Finance and Accounting to ensure accuracy and timely filing and payment of sales and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for preparing financial and management reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post daily cash entries, including cash receipts connected to client payments, and reconcile bank accounts monthly
- Submit monthly journal entries and keep track of reconciliations for accounts payable, fixed assets, intangible assets, and other accumulated costs.
- Examine client contracts on a monthly basis to ensure that revenue is correctly accounted for and to record delayed revenue.
- Complete revenue reconciliation between Oracle BI and NetSuite.
- Enter overdue invoices into NetSuite and maintain the accounts payable inbox in Microsoft Outlook.
- Make sure that partner and vendor payments are prepared on schedule.
- Work closely with the director of finance and accounting to ensure that the company's sales and use taxes that are due to different states are filed and paid on time.
